The Inside Out Project was created by photographer and street artist JR. The purpose was to draw attention to spaces and issues through the medium of photography. The subjects of the photographs make expressive faces to represent their humanity. Please take a look at either of these Ted Talks for more information!

JR, a semi-anonymous French street artist, uses his camera to show the world its true face, by pasting photos of the human face across massive canvases. At TED2011, he makes his audacious TED Prize wish: to use art to turn the world inside out. Learn more about his work and learn how you can join in at insideoutproject.net.
Street artist JR made a wish in 2011: Join me in a worldwide photo project to show the world its true face. One year after making his TED Prize wish, he shows how giant posters of human faces, pasted in public, are connecting communities, making change, and turning the world inside out.
